Preferential properties with decremental conduction of the Marshall vein between the coronary sinus and left superior pulmonary vein

چکیده
Introduction The ligament and vein of Marshall (VOM), with its richly innervated sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves, runs epicardially between the coronary sinus (CS) and left pulmonary veins (LPVs), and can serve as a trigger and substrate for reentry of atrial fibrillation (AF) and atrial tachycardia. Here we describe the case of an AF patient with preferential conduction and decremental properties of the VOM between the CS and left superior pulmonary vein (LSPV).

Response of pulmonary vein potentials to premature stimulation.
INTRODUCTION Pulmonary vein potentials reflect depolarization of muscle fascicles within the myocardial sleeves that surround the pulmonary veins. The response of pulmonary vein potentials to premature stimulation has not been described. METHODS AND RESULTS In 31 patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation referred for segmental isolation of the pulmonary veins, programmed stimulation with a...
متن کاملDifferentiation of atrial and pulmonary vein potentials recorded circumferentially within pulmonary veins.
INTRODUCTION Accurate discrimination of atrial and pulmonary vein potentials recorded circumferentially within the pulmonary veins is important when performing segmental isolation of the pulmonary veins in patients with atrial fibrillation. METHODS AND RESULTS Twenty patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation underwent pulmonary vein mapping with a decapolar Lasso catheter during sinus rhyt...
متن کاملIsolation of the conduction between the Marshall bundle and distal coronary sinus and the entire coronary sinus for an atrial tachycardia after catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation
Introduction Even though mitral isthmus block is completely achieved after pulmonary vein (PV) isolation for atrial fibrillation (AF) by adding a linear ablation, in some cases atrial tachycardias (ATs) can occur that break through between the left atrial appendage and left PVs. This type of perimitral flutter has been reported as a ridge-related reentry (RRR). Jiang and colleagues speculated t...
متن کاملPseudo Cor Triatriatum Sinistrum due to Dilated Coronary Sinus in Association with Supramitral Ring
We herein describe a 34-year-old woman with a persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC) impinging on the posterior wall of the left atrium, subdivided by a membrane at the distal part of the impingement. In this patient, a much dilated coronary sinus due to the PLSVC resulted in a membrane-like structure in the posterior wall of the left atrium with the appearance of the cor triatriatum in tra...
متن کاملArrhythmogenicity of the Coronary Sinus
The coronary sinus (CS) is the cardiac venous system that begins at its ostium in the right atrium and ends at the origin of the great cardiac vein.1,2,3 The major tributaries of the CS include the great cardiac vein (anterior cardiac vein), the left obtuse marginal vein, the posterior (or inferior) left ventricular vein, the middle cardiac vein, and the right coronary vein. In addition, atrial...
